The CD
All accompanying music was specially composed for this course by Adrien Dennefeld, who won first prize in the jazz conservatory in Strasbourg in 2004; specialising in rock composition, contemporary music, a metal and jazz guitarist and cellist, and has gone on many tours with various groups in Europe.


The book
This complete book with much reverence, is the indispensable complement to the DVD1 of Contemporary Dance by Irena Tatiboit; the 16 exercises are shown with accurate and detailed descriptions that give teachers and all those involved in dance the opportunity to immediately refer to a movement, an attitude, a position.




Irena Tatiboit – Teacher
Irena Tatiboit danced at the National Ballet of Poland; a graduateof the Warsaw Opera School and the National Superior Conservatory, she specialized in contemporary dance (Nicolais, Cunningham) in New York; for thirty five years she has taught dance and choreography. Irena Tatiboit also has a career as a painter. She has worked in public and private organizations in various countries of the world, in Poland, Malaysia, Russia, USA, Tunisia, Spain, Portugal and France, with more than 60 shows; In 1991, she created Le Carré d’Art in Strasbourg, a Contemporary Dance School, which she is still directing.
Pedagogical objectives
Training :
The building and reinforcement of the learned vocabulary and enrichement of the student’s technique by the proposed exercises will help improve motor skills, increase speed of movement, build up muscle tone, and allow better coordination, precision and memorisation of a movement. The exercises and combinations will help achieve a good level of general technique and intensive physical commitment.
Progression :
Teaching the vocabulary and grammar of Modern Dance, in keeping with the respect of rigourous progression, is the only guarantee of an efficient learning method. Conceiving the progression and learning the steps, starts with observation of the fundamental teaching methods of Modern and Classical Dance.
Creation:
Creative expression is aimed to improve the inventive capacity of personal movement, to explore one’s own sensitivity with interactions between students and teachers, while practicing improvisation.
